Women in Tri UK – First Triathlon Programme Terms & Conditions

 

The First Triathlon Programme is designed to support women taking on their first ever short-course triathlon. We believe cost should never be a barrier to participation, so we partner with races to provide first-timers with a race entry or up £100 sponsorship towards race fees for non-partner events, this is alongside a supportive community to guide you through your journey.​

By applying for this programme, you agree to the following terms:

Eligibility

​

To participate, you must:

​

  • Identify as a woman and are over 18 years of age.

  • Be taking part in your first ever triathlon race.

  • For non-partner events, you will cover any difference between the £100 sponsorship provided by us and the actual race registration fee.

  • Consent to Women in Tri UK storing your personal information, which will be used solely for programme administration and not shared with third parties.

  • Agree to allow Women in Tri UK to share your story/image on social media to promote our work, fundraising efforts and inspire other first timers. This can be anonymized on request.

Medical & Liability Disclaimer

By applying to this programme, you acknowledge that:

​

  • Taking part in a triathlon requires a reasonable level of fitness and carries inherent risks, including injury.

  • You are responsible for ensuring that you are medically fit and able to participate. If in doubt, please consult a doctor before starting training.

  • Women in Tri UK does not provide medical advice or personal insurance. You take part at your own risk and agree that Women in Tri UK is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage sustained during training or the event itself.

Code of Conduct

As a participant, you agree to:

​

  • Represent Women in Tri UK in a positive and respectful manner at all times.

  • Treat fellow athletes, volunteers, and event organisers with courtesy and respect.

  • Adhere to all event rules set by the race organisers.

  • Ensure that any social media posts about your experience reflect Women in Tri UK's values of inclusivity and encouragement.

 

Failure to comply may result in removal from the programme and ineligibility for future sponsorships.

Withdrawal & No-Show Policy

​

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may prevent you from taking part. If you are unable to race:

  • At least 4 weeks’ notice: Please inform Women in Tri UK so we can transfer your place to another athlete and avoid losing sponsorship funds.

  • Less than 4 weeks’ notice or a no-show: You agree to refund the £100 sponsorship unless exceptional circumstances apply (e.g., medical injury, bereavement). These will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

 

We hope you will continue to support FHT UK in other ways, such as fundraising, sharing our mission, or taking part in a future event.
